  Description of the Modification
ͼ

This Quake modification changes a lot of the sounds to alternative
ones. It turns the Grunt into Ned Flanders, the Ogre into Homer and
the Enforcer into Ray Martin (a jaded tv autocue reader FYI). It also
changes the player sounds and deathmatch sounds and some of the event
sounds (eg picking up a key, getting the quad) into various things.

There's really too many to list - just play it and see.

A slight warning:
Some of the samples contain profanity, it's not like Quake's a kid's
game, but still, you've been told now. Delete it off your drive if
such things offend.

ͻ
  How to use Modification
ͼ

Start your game with "quake -game aqsounds" on the command line, where
aqsounds is the directory in which the patch is installed.

ͻ
  How to Install the Modification
ͼ

1) Create a directory within the Quake directory called aqsounds

2) Unzip the files from this archive into that directory, using the -d
option with PKUNZIP. Winzip will create the correct directories
automatically if you check the "use directory names" box.

3) Start Quake by typing (in your quake directory): QUAKE -GAME aqsounds

  Future Enhancements
ͼ

Dunno, if anything screams for change I'll do it.
Hmm... maybe if I ever go through a Philip Glass phase and turn it
all into one big minimalist compositional soundscape.

Hey! That would work...

  Copyright and Distribution Permissions
ͼ

Authors MAY use this modification as a basis for other publically
available, not-for-profit work, provided they inform the author of any
modifications which are made.

You may distribute this Quake modification in any electronic
format as long as this description file remains intact and unmodified,
is retained along with all of the files in the archive and the
author's name and email address are never removed from the code,
despite other modifications which might be made.

The above permissions do not apply to Actura Software, Microsoft, and
their affiliates, who may not do anything, in any form, in any way,
by any means with these files, including, but not limited to, sale
and redistribution.

If anyone else would like to include this modification in a collection
of Quake modifications, whether for sale or otherwise, please contact me
and let me know about it. Bear in mind that these sounds are sampled
from a variety of other sources so the original artists might also
have something to say about it.

Notice for any original artist upset over the use of their work in this:
I have never and will never charge money for this. No sample it is
intentionally used in a manner which would degrade or harm your work,
and I have cited sources where possible. However if it really bothers
you let me know in writing. It is good PR and advertising otherwise.

  Bugs/Notes

In a sound? I think not.

Why? 'cos it's fun...
